Weight and the Liver

The liver is the major organ of the body’s filtration and detoxification system. Every bacteria, virus, parasite, fungus, chemical, and hormone is filtered through the liver. It is the largest gland in the human body performing over five hundred known functions. It plays a major role in metabolism, breaking down fats, proteins and carbohydrates, it store glycogen, it synthesis plasma protein, and produces bile an alkaline compound necessary for digestion.

A toxic environment, junk food, additives in the food (MSG), alcohol, mineral imbalance, nutritional deficiency, constipation, synthetic estrogen, medications, birth control pills, aspirin, or HRT (hormone replacement therapy) can damage the liver.

When the liver gets damaged, toxic waste that is normally filtered out can recirculate through the body creating a toxic overload. The toxicity in the body will prevent weight loss.

Protruding abdomen (potbelly) is one of the symptoms of a damaged liver and it is not necessarily fat. It could be a fluid accumulated in a sac inside the abdomen in the stomach area that can fill up when liver is not able to produce sufficient amounts of protein and if there is imbalance in sodium and potassium. “Potbelly” (mostly male) and roll of fat around the upper abdomen “liver roll” (mostly women) are often sign of “fatty liver”. In this condition the liver has stopped burning fat and has turned into a fat storing organ. It will be impossible to lose this abdominal fat until the liver function is restore. A healthy liver will start burning fat efficiently again and the weight will come off gradually and without too much effort on your part. It is unnecessary to make yourself miserable by following a low fat, low calorie diet or popping diet pills. Eating the nutrients dense foods and taking “complete food” nutritional supplements will restore your liver and its fat burning function. Your liver has the capacity to totally rejuvenate but it is vital to be patient, as it can take between 3 to 12 months, depending upon the amount of fat and toxic waist deposited in the liver, to remove the excess fat. However, this approach will insure your success and provides the best chance of restoring your figure and your health. Having a healthy liver is the most important first step in weight loss.

Progressive stages of the liver type

What symptoms Liver type may experience

In the morning – Tightness or pain in the right shoulder, neck and lower back.  Morning low blood sugar may bring up moodiness, irritability, and feelings of depression, lethargy and struggle. First urine may be darker, eyes may be blood shot, itchy, swollen or with yellow tint. Finger joints may be stiff and slightly swollen.

Digestive problems – Feeling tired after meals, dull pressure and fullness in the upper right side of abdomen under the rib cage, bloating, gas, burping, bad breath, belching and indigestion after eating fatty foods and refined grains. Gluten (the protein part of grain) may aggravate arthritis and cause joint inflammation and pain in the hands, right shoulder, ankles and knees, mid back, low back, and lower neck.

Skin – Itching is the most significant clinical symptom of severe liver cell damage and occurs usually because the liver fluids are backing up into the blood. Bad skin like brown spots on the back of the hands and throughout the body (liver spots), red dots, psoriasis, eczema and the fungus on toenails and an scalp are symptoms of a damage liver.

As the liver becomes progressively damage – fingers may look clubbed, and nail beds appear whitened, Because of a lack of bile (the substance produce by the liver that assists in breaking down fats) production bowels become a light, sandy color. Due to toxic overload and excessive estrogen the male body will start developing female characteristics; enlarged breasts, thinned skin, higher voice, spider veins and shrinkage of the testes can occur. A damaged live can be a source of memory loss, high blood pressure and edema (swelling) especially in the ankles.
